Frequently AskedQuestions

Do you offer free quotes?

Yes, we offer free, no-obligation quotes. We’re happy to assess the job and provide clear pricing before any work begins.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the local and surrounding areas. If you’re unsure whether we cover your location, just get in touch.

How long does plastering take?

This depends on the size and complexity of the job. Smaller rooms can often be completed in a day, while larger projects may take longer. We’ll give you a realistic timeframe with your quote.

How long does plaster take to dry?

Plaster usually takes around 7 days to dry fully, depending on ventilation and conditions. We recommend waiting until it has completely dried before painting.

Can I paint straight onto new plaster?

Yes, but new plaster must be fully dry first. Use a mist coat (diluted emulsion) before applying your top coats. For best adhesion a light sand is recommended.

Do you clean up after the job?

Absolutely. We take pride in leaving your property clean and tidy once the work is complete.

How do I book or get a quote?

You can contact us via phone, email, or our website contact form and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Do I need to prepare the room before plastering starts?

Where possible, we kindly ask that the room is cleared of furniture, personal items and valuables before work begins. This helps us work efficiently, achieve the best finish, and protect your belongings from dust and splashes. If you’re unable to move larger items, please let us know in advance and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Do radiators need to be removed before plastering?

Yes, radiators usually need to be removed before work starts to allow for a proper finish. Please arrange removal in advance.

Will my artexed ceiling contain asbestos?

Artex manufactured and applied up until the early 1980s sometimes contained asbestos. Not all artexed ceilings will contain it, but if your ceiling dates from this period, we strongly recommend having it tested by a qualified specialist before any work is carried out.

I have an Artex ceiling — can it be made smooth?

Yes, in most cases Artex can be skimmed over to create a smooth finish. It may need light scraping and preparation first. Very heavy Artex may require overboarding.
